Anyone have an old callbook from the '60s or '70s and can look up my callsign?

I picked mine as a vanity call and am just wondering who had it before me.

Thanks.

(A callbook? What's that?

Check out N4MC's Vanity HQ and use the lookup box near the top left.

Mine is a vanity call too and it had no prior assignment. Looking up my old callsign in their database tracked it back only to 1981 though I was originally licensed in '75.

Wish I could be of help, but this made me think back to the first "callsign database" I had. It was the one of the ones distributed on CD and it had an application on it to pull the data from the CD and display it. much like Microsoft Access does now. At the time, I had a Mac, so I could only use it on a Mac. Plus, as soon as one person was added to the FCC database or call was changed, my CD was "obsolete". Ah, those were the days...or maybe not :D

Someone over on QRZ looked me up in '78 - not listed. So, if anyone has a callbook before that.

Reading through a '53 QST I came across a silent key announcement of a currently active W9 ham in town here. Gonna scan that and email it to him. Hi Hi.

I don't think the K9s were issued until the '60s though.
