Old CSP VHF radio question

Hi all..new to the board (signed up awhile back)...

I'm working on the restoration of a 1983 CSP Mustang, and looking for some information on the radio used back then. I read that they are in the process of updating their system, but I need the old stuff.

Does anyone here know a dealer in old surplus stuff that I can buy a complete setup from? The contact I have at CSP said that he thought the radio was a Syntor X with siren option, and the switchbox was a Unitrol (switch only...no siren).

I'm also looking for one of the old Whelen bars used back then. Any help is greatly appreciated!

I know a guy that might know exactly what you want; I have a complete Syntor X that I would part with, but it is a UHF not VHF.

any pictures of the light bar? the car itself? *3 series whelen, had to be the old WS 2222 series. Dogbone style?

Sure...here is one of the car in-service. The bar is a Whelen 80 series (the strobe version was called SuperStrobe...this one has outboard rotators and inner Par 36s).

I have also spoken to the trooper in the pic...he doesn't remember what the radio was either!

more than likely the radio was a Syntor X with siren option. I also sure that the light controls were the unitrol. Both of these were used in cars till about 1997/1998 ish.

Thanks for that....any more info? I have a Unitrol 330 (switch only), and a syntor with siren, but I'm not sure about the configuration or specific heads used with the radio. I guess it'd be easiest just to try and find an old surplus setup (with the complete radio and amplification for the siren, also).

I'm trying to remember how the radio was set up, it's been about 7 years since having one of those radios. I know there was 8 channels with a A deck and B deck. The siren had the basic set up and the "outside speaker" button for the radio was used alot since we didnt have packsets, at least none that would work. As far as how they had the wiring set up for those overheads, I dont know. My first car had the LP lights on them.
