As a follow up - CW is still available under remote control. I tried it under eSPYonARD* and CW is still selectable and operates with the correct bandwidth..

So either AOR left it off by mistake or there is not enough room for it under hardware control in Firmware Version 1609D..

Great catch! The CW mode is important for folks that need the narrower bandwidth for those CW pileups. AOR advises that they are aware of the situation and that the engineers in Japan are looking into the situation.

Let's hope that it can be added back as quickly as possible.

Luckily it can still be selected by eSPYonARD..

Yes, I saw that. I certainly hope that this was just an oversight by AOR and that it will be rectified as quickly as possible. I would hate to think that they would purposely remove a mode from the menu without mentioning it in their firmware update notes.

I get the feeling that they ran out of space for selecting/displaying Modes and left it as is..

I would hate to think that were true. As I mentioned, one would have thought that they would have notified users who were doing the update that this would be the case in the notes they supplied with the firmware update. Considering the fact that this is supposed to be an SDR receiver, I would hate to think that they could not find a way to place an additional mode in the menu selections.

I guess we'll know in a week or two, once AOR has a chance to sort it out.

CW IS BACK

Today's firmware release (1610B) restores CW to the mode menu options. Thank goodness for that. I use the mode extensively during CW pileups and heavy noise conditions. But let's keep on eye on things to make sure that some other functions have not been inadvertently lost or changed.
