Anyone have a list of the old hard id numbers opp use to use?

Like 6-234 would be a essex county stealth unit. 6 zone being SW ontario

Back before fleetnet they had different numbers on the cars and curious if anyone has a list of what area the starting numbers would of been.

Way back in the early days the cars were numbered from X-001 and up there was no pattern. The current number sequence started in the later days of the old VHF system before the migration to Fleetnet. Some assets do use a different number scheme like 6-7xx, 8xx to designate items like ATVs and Fleetnet portables (XTS and APXs) the same applies to special use vehicles like ERU and other groups.

The hard ID matches the car number (asset tag) so 6-234 would have a hard ID of 6-234 this is married to the RID so that the comm desk will automatically display that unless a soft ID is assigned.

Is that what your asking?

The numbers on the side of the cars and for what areas. Like how 6-xxx is SW ontario cars, 5-xxx is gta area and so on n on.
I think the numbering system was different back then and curious what they would of been between london-windsor-lambton

From way back when:

1 was Windsor, 2 was London, 3 was Burlington, 4 was Niagara?, 5 was Downsview, 6 was Mount Forest and 7 was Barrie. These were the Region Headquarters back in the day.

On lowband, the second digit was the make/model of car. 35xx would have been an Impala from Burlington and 33xx would have been a Crown Vic from Burlington. Trucks and special vehicles got their own set of numbers. The Broncos that patrolled the Six Nations were 46-xxx and vans were typically 52-xxx.

38-xxx were replacement cars from GHQ.

38-xxx were replacement cars from GHQ.
1xx were plymouths
3xx were fords
5xx were chevs
7xx were valiants
Xx denoted the car
The prefix denoted the district, eg. district 3 was Burlington HQ and covered Brant, Niagara. District 5 was Port Credit and covered from Winston Churchill to Toronto.
