Evening everyone,
Looking to get an old P25 radio scanner I have back up and running. When powered the screen is pretty much blacked out due to having been exposed to sun/light. Don't know if that is fixable. I have an antenna that has the base screw mount on it, however, the radio is missing the metal piece that fits into the radio itself where you screw on the antenna. The radio has the internal pin that the metal screw goes over. Any idea where I could get this repaired or looked at or should I just look at getting a new radio? I am stuck with an old school RS Bearcat 30 Channel 10 Band radio, sadly only CHP and SJCO Fire can really be used and I live in upper Stockton, so it is pretty much a moot radio.

Thanks in advanced.

I appreciate the reply. I'm in California in the Central Valley east of the Bay area. NY is a bit too far away.

a 106 won't cost much to ship and G&G does great work at a reasonable price. Good luck with finding someone to repair it locally.

There is a contrast adjustment. Check the setting. It may have been changed. Also, check the light area setting. You have a choice of LCD, keys, or both for the backlight. Screen may be turned off. Backlight can also be set to stealth which turns it off.

Is G&G the preferred repair business? Are there none in the Sacramento area? I have a Pro-97 that's lost a solder between the BNC jack and the board I believe.
