I read it and suspect it is talking rebanding the 800. I guess my question should have siad will the 2096 work in the 770 range

No it can't. Keep in mind that anything that happens in the 700 Mhz range is NOT related to rebanding, just to make sure that there's no confusion

While you could open the coverage up using the documented trick, it's sensitivity would be wildly all over the board, and it will not trunk in 700 either.
