Sac City Fire medic 30 was just dispatched to assist Pleasant Grove Fire (Sutter County) on a medical aid and told to contact them on the old Sac County Fire Tac 6 (154.100) I guess it may be worth keeping those old frequencies parked in the scanner.

Primary - 154.190
Command 4 - 154.325
Command 5 - 154.430
Tac 6
- 154.100
Tac 7
- 154.400
Tac 8
- 153.785

Very cool - I know that Sac fire does routine mutual aid assists - Sutter, Placer, El Dorado and Amador -

"old" frequencies

I keep these frequencies programmed but not because they're old....

Command 4 - 154.325 is also Stanislaus County Fire Tac 9 (and others)
Command 5 - 154.430 is also Camino Fire AND Stanislaus County Fire Command 2
Tac 6 - 154.100 is also Lodi Fire (and others)
Tac 7 - 154.400 is also Glenn County Fire (and others)
Tac 8 - 153.785 is also Sierra County Sheriff. But, I've been picking up something more local with a CT of 103.5 that's not listed here.

STockton Port Police uses at 103.5 PL and are licensed to 153.785? Could it be them?

ANyone know the PL's, if any, for the Sac Co ones listed? Maybe we can filter the other users out.

Yes, it could be. I've picked up the Stockton port on 154.830 CT 103.5.

I can provide CT values for the agencies other than Sacramento. My older scanners, which is all I had when Sacramento used those frequencies, do not have CT/DC capability. And since monitoring "distant agencies", the only unknown CT I received was on 153.785 (for the above list of frequencies).

for all of them?

Back when they were in use I always got traffic with 162.2 on all of them. Not sure about 159.8, my guess would be bleed over it's only one tone code away but I will try it and see. gmclam do you get different traffic with 159.8 than you do with 162.2?

Not sure what you mean by different traffic. I see it on both 154.190 (Metro Fire) and 153.890 (Sacramento City Fire). It is clearly Sacramento fire radio traffic. I have a lot of theories, such as they are using different repeaters. For a while I thought it might be something like when Metro Fire dispatches on 154.190 they use CT 162.2. Then you'll hear a "city fire call" on 154.190 with a CT of 159.8.

There are a lot of ways I can identify metro vs city fire traffic, one is the tac channel they assign. I've really not paid a lot of attention as to when I get one tone or the other, but I see them both. There will be a dispatch for a single call, then the tone will switch (either direction) and the call more or less repeated. It is as if they are dispatching it twice to different "regions" (using different repeaters).

I realize the tones are only one step apart, and the very first time I saw this that is what I thought happened. But it is too consistent, and happens with very good signals.

Primary - 154.190*
Command 4 - 154.325*
Command 5 - 154.430
Tac 6 - 154.100
Tac 7 - 154.400
Tac 8 - 153.785

*You can use these repeater outputs for most of the major fire traffic on a weekend vacation around Santa Cruz. They use that same 162.2 Pl there too...

That is very interesting. I have 154.190 and 153.890 with 159.8 in my scanner now and I will see what I can hear.

When I monitor 154.190 from Placer County, I've noticed that they must have different towers that they use. North county calls are very clear, but south county calls are barely readable on an HT, and still scratchy on my mobile. Perhaps the different CT tones are to activate the different repeaters? I've also noticed duplicated dispatches, and they sound like they have switched repeaters. I have not, however, tried to capture the CT tones. Just my thoughts...
