I use the scanner like a base. The factory antenna works just ok. Looking to up grade, Have a one story home with no attic. Scan mostly 150/160 MHZ. Looking through Forums found RH77CA and UAYRSOK mentioned. Any PROS or CONS. Any other suggestions.

(Cellular blocked in the US)
Triple conversion superheterodyne
from the manual,

i use older radios to keep an ear on stuff that is seldom used or that is not of big interest.
FRS/GMRS/MURS, ham, military air, businesses, the five 8tacs, space station, DEA.
try scanning through the 406 to 420 range for government stuff.

You do realize he was talking about an antenna upgrade????
I'm sure he knows his scanner's limits........

it was more to put the manual up and the limits were for antenna suggestions as even i thought the radio topped out at 512.

Yes looking for good replacement antenna
BNC 150-160MHZ
Try a telescopic antenna with a BNC connector adjusted to approximately 18" in length. This yields a quarter-wave at 155 MHz, the center of the range of interest. A telescopic antenna can then be adjusted to other frequencies of interest using the formula of 234 divided by the target frequency equalling the length in feet, limited only by the min/max length of the antenna.

Here's the ones I use for my Sportcat 150B and other analog scanners I have. They work great! Screenshot_2023-08-13-00-58-41-04_b5f6883d2c20a96c53babc0b4ac88108.jpg
