SDS100 is something I'm considering buying. I realize supply on the handheld is tight now. Anyway, is it worth waiting for the SDS100? I have the Uniden BCD396T (handheld). Can I expect reception to be significantly better on the SDS100 vs. the BCD396T? I live in LA County and will be using it for primarily local airport traffic, police, fire stuff - nothing else really. Thanks!

Right now about the only system it will work better on in the LA area is SBCo P25 system. If OCFA ever goes unencrypted like they said they were going to do then probably that system too.

Depending what frequencies and systems you listen and how much radio activity there is in your area the SDS100 may actually be worse. Lots of intermod and frequencies bleeding over each other on conventional UHF and VHF.
