Nice radios.
They look to be in very good condition. Keep a hold of those puppies.

the power plug looks like the one you would find on a Uniden BC15/996 series scanners.
or at least its pretty darn close.

Its looks like a standard cb power cord connection. If it has three pins with the middle offset then thats what Im talking abt. You can find them on ebay for less than $10. Make sure that you check the + and - on the new cord. I cant recall specifically but I think some of those old radios had them reversed. Better safe than sorry in case im right.

those look awsome. anybody have a year for these?
Based on the styling and my best recollection, the Sonar probably dates to the mid-60s and the Lafayette to the early 70s. The HEC unit on top of the Lafayette is outside the scope of my knowledge.

The lafayette is from 1970 the midland from 1977 and the sonar is 1960 the hec has no date on it

Very nice memories

I have two FS-23's. The base radio has a Phone Patch, amplified D104 and stacked 5's made by Hi-Gain (a Hurricane in 91 took em down). The second unit used as mobile for a few years. Both have the final base shorted to ground and both have circuitry for VOX and Sonar Call. Purchased the first in 62 and second in 64. Replaced a 59 G model Sonar with the second FS-23.

Haven't used either in 17 years and one is well cannibalized to keep the other going. BTW, I designed a schematic for going to channel 40 but never put it to use. I did do this with a Cobra in 1975.
