OLYMPIA, Wash. -- The Washington State Patrol is upgrading its radios to meet pressing federal mandates and to allow troopers to talk with police officers, sheriff’s deputies and firefighters in the areas they patrol.

It doesn't state what type of digital radio system, trunking or conv., does anyone have any ideas what they plan on going with? Thanks!

What happened to LERN?

In the counties I've worked (Clallam & Thurston) they all use UHF/VHF - non trunked systems. WHY waste $40 million to change what works???
