Unless they have a department rule about it, there is nothing wrong.
Of course it will get a lot of media play, and will be deemed as a horrible thing, and then a rule will be created and the unfortunate medic will be strung up and shot at. (figuratively)
Sounds to me like somebody in the administration is wrapped a little too tight if they're
making an issue out of this. Over the years I've heard everything including the "F" bomb
on Omaha's radio system. How about a "Let's not do that again, folks" to the paramedics
and tell the media to move along?
How about a big "F-U" to the media, by explaining that;
1) It did not harm, and
2) it calmed the kid, which
3) probably calmed the patent, which
4) is proper care!
In the medical profession, it's called "bedside manner."
