Just as an item of educational speculation, anyone making any predictions on what the Omaha and Sterling, NE CCs will be?
Here's my predictions:
Omaha: 172.7750 (Falls City)
Sterling: 173.7625 (Jones Creek)
If the use of 173.8250 between Plattsmouth and Craig is any indication, the above could be a real possibility. I don't, however, think it would be the other way around. True enough, Omaha could have 173.7625 but Sterling is too close to Falls City to share 172.7750.
We already know that the channels will be in the Federal range, and I think we'd all have to conclude that the pool of available Federal frequencies is probably pretty small, so why not re-use channels as long as they're outside of each other's coverage areas?
Wouldn't it have been interesting if ALL of the Eastern Nebraska sites had been created into a simulcast subsystem? They would've needed a more dense population of tower sites, but it could be done!
