From another list, but a real goo idea.... Just a reminder that the nationwide Family Radio Service airshows & other airport watching/monitoring "on scene" activities calling/communicationsFrequency is Channel 14 (467.7125 mhz) with CTCSS 38 (250.3 hz) and the alternate frequency/ctcss is Channel 7 (462.7125 mhz) CTCSS 15 (110.9 hz).

So with upcoming airshow season or even the opportunity to visit your local
airport to watch & radio monitor flight activities give a call out on these
frequencies & perhaps you will meet a hobbyists with like interests!!!

A $10.00 FRS radio can come in very handy at these "on scene" activities, especially if there's different observation points at the airfields' perimeter.

Thanks for that! I had no idea that there was a special frequency designation for something like that.

Neither did I.

Wonder who "designated" it?

He added this paragraph in his other "double post" about the same topic, in the military air forum.

"BTW the FRS 14/38 calling channel has been around for many years & used by hobbyists in the northeast. For example at last year's Westfield/Barnes ANGB (MA) show, one hobbyist who wasn't going to attend, decided to attend and he put out a call to all milcom/milair hobbyists. He was in the same parking lot that I was in and we were able to meet up before even entering the show area."
