Few years ago i had this port working and for some reason i cant really get it to work anymore, reuploaded the OS "there's the ticker".

I have an Nvidia driver on the PCI slot so i dont know if that has anything to do with it but i also have a Ethernet Card on the board as well, I sound lost at this point.

I just need to know where i can find an update or something to get the Onboard LAN functional so i can use that and free up a PCI slot.

Lets see if you have the correct driver loaded for the onboard LAN. Go to start... then run... and type devmgmt.msc then click ok. Next click on the [+] next to network adaptors. Locate the 1394 net adaptor. Are there any qestion marks or exclaimation marks next to it? Left double click the 1394 net adaptor... look near the bottom of the box that comes up... under device usage... does it say "use this device enabled"?

Do you know the brand/model of your motherboard?

Also, you mention nVidia... you can probably head to Welcome to NVIDIA - World Leader in Visual Computing Technologies and let it scan for chipset drivers (works best in IE, sadly) and it will tell you if they are up to date or not.
