I did log a good amount of data traffic from the Belton location but its not the trunk groups shown. I wonder if thise wireless power switches found on telephone poles are connected to the system?
Do you have a phase II capable scanner? What kind of data? Was it talkgroups that are not in the database or iCalls?

The recloser switches with the 2-3 foot long thick dark antennas that they installed recently are on 700 MHz.

Right now I use Unitrunker but I also have DSD Plus Fastlane installed and also SDR Trunk. 2143700 is the one I see from last night until early this morning. The service shows as data.

The pole-mounted switches (3 phase segmentation switches) utilize LTE modems, but you have to wonder if Oncor will move those over to their new P25 system once it's fully built out.

Lots of updates from my long trip back to Shreveport today. I was able to confirm Sandow (Rockdale), Calvert, Twin Oaks (Franklin), Teague, Lufkin and Zavalla. They were submitted and added to the database. Lufkin is weird since it shows the neighbors of it's RFSS counterpart, Minerva that are over 200 miles away. They have a lot of cleaning up to do on this system.

You'll also note that I updated some of the site names based on the Oncor nodes from the old EDACS system. As some of you noted earlier in the thread, the sites are in alphabetical order, save for a few oddballs. The P's and R's are a little thrown off with the former EDACS Richardson tower being called Plano now, and it is just barely in the Plano city limits. Brownsboro was probably intended to be Echols, but Echols lake and dam are more or less covered by Groesbeck. Also, Dallas is kind of out of order as well. For the sites with different RFSS, if you just go off the site numbers only, they are in otherwise perfect alphabetical order. This spurred me to edit my P25 data file with question marks and filling in the blanks from the old EDACS system for sites that haven't been confirmed P25 yet:

As I am the one that submitted "Plano", that name was just using the name of the city the site was located in, not knowing the site had a specific "Name" (much like Allen being in McKinney). If it makes sense to add the Oncor "name" that's fine.

It also makes you wonder if the "Dallas" site at 1601 Bryan also has an Oncor "name" that would put the site assignment in more context (1601 Bryan is labeled on Google Maps as "Energy Plaza", so that could be the name that fixes it, but again that's a guess), but unless an Oncor insider speaks up, we may never know for certain on some of these names.

I notice that all three channels will show this Data group. I wonder if its a BSI ?

With the expected winter weather troubles, I started Discovery mode on the Grapevine site again this morning.

If I remember correctly, this was the case with EDACS too, it looks like the last 4 digits of the Radio ID is often the same as the ID voiced on the air when units check in and out.

I also heard a couple of people talking about P25 vs "Beyond LTE" modes.

Below is a list of talk groups that I've logged.

That’s my experience for all sites I’ve found so far, a couple affiliations but no grants
I figure that it will take time to finish up rolling this system out. I wonder how many vehicles and hand held radios we will see once things are 100 percent? Back 10 years or so the old EDACS system was pretty busy during the day and during weather events.

The problem with the EDACS system was having someone find the LCNs for each site and hoping they didn’t change them. We are spoiled now with these new P25 systems, all we do now is find a control channel, run it for 10 seconds or so, and move on! It’s too easy. I mapped out a lot of the AEP sites LCNs years ago and that took time. Most LCNs were found with nothing but their short data bursts.

You should try some of these DMR systems (and some NXDN systems as well), LCN's are still very much alive and still very much at PITA. I spent better part of a few days during my holiday trip up North mapping out a Utility Companies' Motorola Capacity Max system, and I can tell you it wasn't fun.

Oh trust me, I still do! I mapped out most of the Bearcom South Texas and Central Texas systems, have found many site LCNs for Texas Bigfoot, Wood County, Marshall, DeSoto Parish and others. If I’m staying in an area for some time it helps to have the LCN finder with my 436 and sds100. That was a game changer for us.

if I were to guess, there will probably not be much traffic on P25. I'd bet a dollar that their radios will only switch to them when they lose LTE, then switch back to cellular when it is restored.

Has anyone logged ANY radio IDs on this system? I have watched a few sites for hours and they are completely idle.

I logged a few RIDs in the range 2140505-2149306 on DFW area sites during band openings. Always early morning when there is little traffic.

Also logged the following talkgroups with 5 or less hits on each.
128
133
134
242
243

I haven't been able to run Unitrunker on it for an extended period of time during normal business hours.

I would imagine usage of this system is going to be sporadic at best with their XL200s preferring LTE over P25. I would imagine if the cell service becomes spotty, particularly during a weather event, we will see more activity on the sites in the affected areas.

Good conditions this morning. I noticed another case of a site showing a neighbor that is way too far away to make sense. I'm receiving what appears to be Weatherford 215-215. The populated frequencies are the same as the licence and what is in the db. It is showing a neighbor 109-099 939.6625 which the db shows as Groesbeck.

Also the Wichita Falls EDACS site is off the air. I don't know if that means they are working on it or it just broke or something.
