Hi all. I have an existing setup with 1 antenna on the VHF range. I would like to setup an additional simple base station to TX/RX from. Am i able to use the single existing antenna and install a splitter/diplexer to be able to TX/RX from both base stations. One would communicate on channel "A", and the other on channel "B"?

If the radios are 25w or less and both VHF you can use an RF sensing switch from Shakespeare that will switch one of two radios to the antenna when you transmit. It will stay connected to the antenna until you transmit on the other radio and so on. Otherwise the only way to do this would be with a custom diplexer sharply tuned for each of your VHF frequencies.

Both are 50w. I know the specific tx/rx freqs that each channel uses. If I were to do that(with a sharply tuned diplexer), would I still need a switchbox to flip back and forth between radios? Also, I have 5 channels total in use, can I use a diplexer tuned and just use radio "a" for some and radio "b" for the others. Im worried about feedback and damage when TX.

Do not use a splitter/combiner or a switch; port isolation *might* be enough but cannot be guaranteed, risking damage to either or both set.

No easy solution except for a manual A/B switch between radios.
