I read a thread on the 296d and the 796d that you can only program one control channel per bank, is this true? Has uniden been approached about updating firmware to at least allow two cc per bank, what about 3rd party software to allow this change? scannerdweeb. [/u][/b]

If it is the same as the 250 it is not so much that you can't program it, it is that it doesn't work too well. It searches the CCs a bit too much I think is the main problem. What I do is have all the CCs there but unlock the one's not being used.

Not one control channel - one SYSTEM (for Motorola, up to 4 control channels)

As for allowing multiple systems, they have already solved that with the BC246T.

Unless one were interested in just a couple of talkgroups in a system, I can't see filling up one bank with multiple systems (to monitor, that is).

With the 246, does anyone know how difficult it is to hold on a particular talkgroup ID of a specific trunk, when there are multiple trunked systems programmed in the same bank?

You cannot put multiple trunked systems in the same bank - each trunked system is its own system. It is very easy to hold.

Although you can assign many to the same quick key. I think 200 is the limit.

Yes, that is true -

The BC296D will stop on the first active control channel it comes across, and stay there. Even if you program conventional frequencies in between the control channels, it will not jump to the next active control channel. It appears that it was designed to handle only one system (active control channel) per bank.

If you are talking about the 296 - no. The Pro96 does this (as will likely the GRE base unit coming soon.) If you are talking about the BC246T, there's nothing you need to change...
