If CPD folds into SO, they wouldn't keep the EDACS would they? Maybe all go to the 700 system down the road?

The city of Clearwater is looking into cutting its police department and replacing it with the PCSO.
CLEARWATER (Bay News 9) -- The city of Clearwater is looking into cutting its police department.
A new report says the Pinellas County Sheriff's Office could take over instead, saving the city millions of dollars.
The city asked the sheriff to come up with a proposal.
Sheriff Jim Coats says it would cost about $29.2 million for his office to take over the basic operations of the Clearwater Police Department.
Currently, the police department has a budget of $37.4 million, so that would be a savings of $8.2 million a year.
The sheriff says he could save money by consolidating jobs but his proposal would leave the same number of patrol officers and detectives on the streets.

The price tag does not include the cost of maintaining a police station or substations in Clearwater, so that would make the number go up.
The city manager is currently reviewing the proposal.
All of the major cities in Pinellas, including St. Petersburg, Clearwater, Largo and Pinellas Park operate their own police departments.
