i have baught an old fire dept radio, ive rapaired everything on it because i plan to sell it, but i noticed that it doesnt hit the oneida county fire dispatch, herkimer county works, and all other channels work on it, but i was wondering since the narrow banding thing that maybe oneida has different input frequencies. its a Kenwood 272G ive logged the TX for oneida as 161.2500Mhz, and 110.9 PL tone. it concurs with the database. but dont know if oneida has changed.

it's all about the CTCSS

during Oneida County's transition from wide to narrow band channels, there were "two" receivers at the tower sites, one for the wide and one for the narrow band channel. now that narrowbanding has completed on the fire side, the 110.9 CTCSS 161.250 channel has been deactivated. I'm gonna say that was fairly recent, July perhaps?

i kinda figured so, does anyone know what the new input is as well as the input tone, so i can get this radio upgraded?

During a recent trip to the casino, I picked up 151.1825 (110.9 PL) 156.0675/Tx WQML695

Sounded like county EMS. Only heard bits-n-pieces of the tranmission. May want to start plugging this channel in your scanners also.

They narrowbanded the rxer and changed the CG or PL to 162.2

ok cool, now all i need to do is get it re programmed. i tried yesterday and im able to hit the herkimer county repeater, but do they plan to change their input as well?

really? well now, guess I'll add it and keep an ear open for it. could it be that there's an "EMS Approach" channel now too?

knowing that the narrowbanding deadline is steadfastly approaching, I'm sure Herkimer will mimic what Oneida did. but only Joe R knows for sure, eh gregman44? ;)

then ill probally wait till the dead line and get all the new pls then reprogram theradio, rather than doing it now and then doing it again when herkimer switches

In addition to NB; P25 emmision designator is listed for WQML695.

Can someone in or near Oneida County confirm that these two repeaters are now using 162.2 PL on the output frequencies, not 110.9 PL?

154.370 - Oneida County Fire Control
159.255 - Oneida County Fire Approach

Also, what is the status of that 155.325 - EMS Dispatch (Future) frequency? Is it on the air yet?

And while we're at it, how about a double check of the two Sheriff's frequencies that are showing a 110.9 PL, are those still the correct PL tones?

155.430 - Sheriff's Office MRD
155.010 - Sheriff's Office Car-to-Car

154.370 - Oneida County Fire Control output 110.9 input was changed to 162.2 on narrowbanding
159.255 - Oneida County Fire Approach output 110.9 input was changed to 162.2 on narrowbanding

159.225 output is 110.9
155.010 output 110.9 input was changed to 162.2 on narrowbanding

EMS channel is not implemented as a base station at this time.

Hope this helps

So then nothing has changed as far as the RR database is concerned, the output PL's remain 110.9 for those frequencies and the database is accurate (we don't care about input PL's in the database).

Thanks
