So, any ideas whose MECA radio has been stuck in xmit on the digital countywide channel for the past 24+ hours? Seems to be sitting in a kitchen, with dishes clanking, phones ringing, people yakking. I thought I heard a still-sleepy youngster say something to 'dad', as if they'd just rolled out of bed.

By the sound of it I would say it is the MECA communications van with a VOX Headset mic stuck on I have heard road directions given out stuff about the flood and other operations on there it sounds like crap and I even get the Digital good.

I got tired of it and killed my feed. It's back online now--I even heard a bit of activity a few minutes ago.

I pulled my feed down again. It's been broadcasting a whole lot of nothing and I want to play it safe with my ISP re: streaming. I'm monitoring and if interesting stuff starts happening, I'll put it back online.

The new meca system has been silent for the most part...does anyone know what's going on with the switch..are we still in a wait and see who budges first mode?
A wait and see game there are some Higher ups pushing on MECA to make some changes so we will have to just sit back and see what happens. No new cut over dates yet.

i'm programming my 996....do i need to program both sites or can i just program the public safety site? I'm only interested in fire / police.....no public service.
Just program 262-101 SYS 1 Public Safety I would not get to into it they may not be using it.

yeah, i'm aware of all the problems. I just downloaded all the new firmware updates and thought I would go ahead and program the new system while I had everything out. Thanks for your help.
Let us know how it works for you with the new Firmware it works fine for me but I know some others it did not help them out. Plus dont forget the new adjustments are hidden you have to push the hold then turn the scanner on to unlock it.

My 396 works better on the new MECA system than on SAFE-T, though it is better on SAFE-T after the update.

MECA 101 & 102 do not sound to bad. They sound like typical Uniden digital decoding.
102 was decoding about 24 and I moved it about 8 inches and it went down to 0. This was at 465 and the airport area. I don't think I ever received above a ERR 30. That's pretty good, 0 is excellent.
I only had limited time to listen, but what I heard sounded good and I had good reception out of town all the way to Whiteland on I-65. I did shut off I-calls on system 102 though, too much talking, and boy those bus drivers drive like manics... heard them reporting accidents or injuries on their buses. And at the convention center, radios are still analog trunked. Did not carry the scanner because I was busy and for security reasons.

I also forgot to tell you the display will flash green orange then come on that is ok so dont freak out then in the menues there are some settings auto AGC most be on then push function then push the volume knob to get to the setting it should be listed on the website on how to do it if not PM and I can run you through it in better detail and better spelling in a hurry sorry.
Just a note here this is just a smalle part.
