Options for other players (Windows Media Player, Real Player, iTunes, and Winamp) aren't showing up in the Player Selection drop down lists on Broadcastify audio feed web pages. I use the Winamp player file in VLC media player to monitor my feed. The file I downloaded a couple days ago still works but that will eventually time out and I'll need to download another. I have Winamp set as my default player on the Broadcastify audio feed page and I get a "file not found" message when I click play on the Broadcastify page.

Hmm. I didn't know that. I always thought the ($$) meant it had an added fee to use it. Works great. Thanks

I am trying this procedure you described to wilcom132 but I get an HTTP Login Required popout-like window. I insert my Broadcastify credentials, using the : as indicated and it doesn't work. Any ideas? Thanks.

I use the VLC media player to stream my feed in Windows. I entered https://username:password@audio.broadcastify.com/feedId.mp3, substituting only my feed ID, in the "Open Network Stream" prompt in VLC. I left the username : password part in the URL and didn't enter my credentials there. VLC then popped up a prompt to enter username and password. I think if you do the same on the Broadcastify feed page, the browser will prompt for username and password.

FYI: I use an old version (2.2.5.1) of VLC because it displays metadata from the feed. That feature was removed from newer versions of VLC.

I use Broadcastify/Winamp to listen to many feeds at a time. I've entered my B-Fry credentials in the pop-up that comes up on Winamp (which I've made sure was correct) and it won't work for me.

If you replaced feedid in the url with the number of the feed you're trying to listen to it should have worked.

I just tested mine in winamp. I replaced username, password, and feedid with my info in the url and it worked.

I apologize in advance. I don't know what you're describing. I'm just not that versed on this aspect of listening to stuff. I grab and go. This has put the brakes on me. If you could be more descriptive, I'd be greatly appreciative.

It sounds like, now that there's no Winamp Player option, the best way for you to listen to many feeds at a time is to set up dashboards in Broadcastify. Log into Broadcastify then select "Dashboards" in the "Listen" menu. You can create dashboards, add feeds to them, and play as many of the feeds as you want at the same time.

Thanks for your help, but Dashboards won't work because I don't have a certain set of regular feeds I listen to. I am jumping all over the place, listening on the fly. I can't predict in advance where I will need to monitor.

Use the static link for premium subscribers. It doesn’t change.

format is
Code:
https://username:password@audio.broadcastify.com/feedId.mp3
Is there some reason that you can share as to why you eliminated Winamp as an option for monitoring feeds?

I'm waiting to hear the reason too. Why eliminate features everyone uses?

I don't believe everyone was using it (my opinion - no data on that whatsoever). It may have been a drop in the bucket compared to those using HTML5 or it was just code that got in the way of the end goal. You can still use the static URL though, so not all is lost.

I can appreciate that somewhat. But that doesn't consider how those who use Winamp and why that app is chosen over others. I listen to multiple feeds during my day and require the app's panning, along with other reasons. I can easily have fourteen or more feeds running. Without it, I'm hobbled considerably. I'd pay double, even triple, a year for Winamp to come back. No kidding.

Can't you use the static URL option in Winamp?

For whatever reason, no. I keep getting a pop-up window looking for :account name:password. I enter them correctly, no success.
ugghhhh... sorry for the smiley face and obscenity. LOL I was typing it here the way it requests it in that pop-up window I mentioned. : account name : password.. There, I spaced it out. Apologies.

Does the static URL work in the web browser?

No worries. I knew what happened. :)
