Could someone clarify this issue--

Does the 780xlt only allow one control channel per bank in Moto II 800 trunking? The site I monitor has two control channels.

Same question for the 246.

Thanks fro any light you can shed on this.

i dont have a 780, so i cant answer for that...

as for the 246... first thing you need to do is eliminate the word "bank" from your vocabulary...

as for the 2 control channels... you could program them both in 2 diff system and assign them to the same quick key.

It's one trunked system per bank in the 780. You would have to load all the contol channels for the system, since you would not know which one of several might be active at any one time. With 50 channels per bank, that's a good deal of wasted real estate.

With the 246, the memory allocation is much more efficient.

First, you can program as many control channels as you want. The scanner will only evaluate the FIRST active one it comes across.

Second, a TRS cannot have two active control channels. You may be talking about the PRIMARY control channel and some ALTERNATE control channels. If so, program them both in, as only one will be active at any given time.

Correct. Some of the larger systems have multiple control channels. All of them need to be programmed, even though at any one time, only one will be active as the control channel in use.
