So..I've finally heard my first comms on this system. Is it just like other systems how talkgroups follow the towers?

Oddly enough the other night I heard Herbs Towing (Cornwall) on both the Pembroke and Renfrew sites. Odd I thought other then their was a unit in the area to affiliate with those sites.

The NXDN aliases on the RID's were working fine as well. A very nice feature by the way.

Anyhow. Like I said this is my first comms to hear atleast in this area. (Heard activity a few weeks ago when I went to S Ont.) & was nice to finally get.

I just wish there was more activity on these site. I'd Imagine Ottawa area has more activity I'm just never there to listen to find out.

what program did you use to program your scanner? ARC or Sentinel? no get the NXDN? I my self is from ONTARIO Wiarton area!

ARC536PRO for me. I have a 436.

I have arc and 536hp. every time I use Sentinel it wipes out my nxdn stuff

That's because there is no NXDN support right now in Sentinel.

OnQue has been a hard one to scan for me on my TRX-1 and 2 only TG i really ever hear is HARP.

Using a BCD 536HP has been great on OnQue. I've only entered the CN Tower site and it is quite busy. Mostly on the Multi-Site and Toronto categories.

The radio ID shows up first, then switches to Alias, which is nice to confirm users. But, I have to manually name the talkgroups or leave them as digits,as at this time there is no Sentinel import.

I programmed the network in Sentinel, as a P25 Motorola system, as a favorite by itself, with all the groups and such. Up loaded the favorite to the scanner and before pulling the cable, for the reboot, I opened the file in the FavoriteLists folder on the scanner with notepad. Changed the "Motorola", on the first line, to "Nxdn" then save the file, then pulled the cable and let it reboot.

From: Trunk OnQ Network Off Motorola

To: Trunk OnQ Network Off Nxdn

Keep in mind that the file is tab formatted. So only change the word Motorola.

Being in a separate favorite, you can make changes in your regular favorites, and your NexEdge favorite won't get over written. When you do make changes, just remember changing the system type, before you let it reboot.

A bit off the topic but wonder if somebody closer to Cornwall could confirm that 423.3625 and/or 423.6625 are active on this system, and the site number. I heard a bit yesterday on one, but barely enough to indicate DMR.
