A few weeks ago I found Onslow County licensed for 800mhz trunking at 3 simulcast sites. I was wondering if anyone in or near Onslow County (Camp Lejeune & Jacksonville) could shed some light on this.

Thanks,

The freqs are listed here with Radio Ref. the system is active with mostly Jacksonville PD the main user. There is some "digi stuff" on the system. I dont have a digi scanner so cant say anymore on that. I can hear it on a Pro-95 when outside of my home and in the car. I live in Pink Hill NC, and my job takes me into Duplin County and Onslow County,

What exactly do you need to know in regards to the Onslow System? I monitor this system heavily and have been updating the database here at RadioReference...

Cheers

Onslow County Fire Radio

Hi, I'm new to this forum. My inlaws live in Onslow county. I visit there 2 times a year. I bring my scanner along to listen in. My question is... on 155.880 (Dispatch) When there is a call, i can receive the far away departments like they are on a repeater. However, it doesn't have that classic repeater carrier delay. The close departments (i'm in the bear creek area) don't seen to to receive like that. it sounds like a normal 2 way radio. Is there some type of repeater system? Matt ...Rochester, NY

Matt I answered your question in your other post. Onslow County EMS uses this system heavily as well. They have the digital talkgroups that were mentioned earlier.

Thanks for the reply...it all makes sense now. I never knew that repeater could work simplex. And according to the fcc web site there is a transmitter in bear creek. The signal strength meter on my radio gets almost a full signal with the antenna off!! Thanks again. Matt
