What about the new ambulance numbers? ie 4411 / 4500 / 4507
They cant carry 4 or 5 stretchers can they?

I *believe*, but don't quote me, that the 4400-series are 2-patient and 4500-series are one patient. It's also possible that they're not getting new 2-patient vehicles anymore and they're all 1-patient.

For Ontario ambulances, does their unit number have a specific meaning or it only to id them?

the first number is the region they are from.

Yes, you are correct.

1 is the Region
2 is the vehicle type
3 and 4 is vehicle number

It's been awhile, but vehicle types:

1 - 1 Stretcher
2 - 2 Stretcher
3 - Administrative (Supervisory/Support, etc.. basically any non-ambulance)
4 - 1 Stretcher regional spare
5 - 2 Stretcher regional spare
