I suspect Pinery has already made the change. I was down that way and caught some P25 chatter which I suspect was probably from them.

As far as I know, all parks will eventually transition. Wasaga has had communications issues for years eventually finding low band unusable so they had to switch to UHF. I've heard Bass Lake PP on 149.185MHz as well.

The interesting thing is the they're using P25 talkgroups on conventional. Each park seems to have a different talkgroup. Not sure if these talkgroups will tie into the LMRN system at some point or not.

Mike, do we/you/anyone happen to know any more of the frequencies that might be in use within the Provincial Park systems? Might be in Port Frank this upcoming long weekend.

All the MNR Lowband frequencies and associated PL tones are listed in the wikipedia pages. Please update if you can where applicable. Ministry of Natural Resources (ON) - The RadioReference Wiki on this page it's the RX Frequency listing which you'd listen for. The TX is the transmit frequency which you may also hear. But both sides should be on the RX .

For the last few days, I have been picking up people on 149.185, the audio is intermittent. It comes in some times, and other times I get the digital audio sounds only. The signal is weak and then strong.
This is the only information I have at this time, I have no other info.
N C92 warden, band shelter, camp ground, baseball, several different parking lots P25

Picking this up with Uniden 436 scanner and discone antenna in Fort Erie Ont.

On the parks frequencies. Look for multiple TG's. Rumour has it each park has a single NAC. Also notice the repeater pairing 149.170/149.605 and 149.185/149.620. I do not know if the 143.460/148.450 pair is active any more. But if two parks are close enough to each other, expect one to be on one repeater pair and the other on the other pair.

Hi Mike. Thanks for the clarification on the NAC. I have been keeping an eye on that link. I put the 2 frequencies into my 'seek and destroy' scanner so if I capture anything ill post it.

Interesting to note, but probably not relevant, the City of Ottawa used both 149.605 and 149.17 prior to moving over to the Bell P25 Provincial System

If my memory serves me right, 149.605 used to be used as a patch frequency to some hospitals here in Southwestern Ontario.

Yes, 149.605MHz was the old MOH Provincial Tactical channel. When the MOH moved to FleetNet, the frequency was returned to the Government Mobile Communications Bureau for reuse.

Looks like it could be 149.185 for Ottawa/Fitzroy Provincial Park by the looks of the license info. TAFL Search Results I'm gonna plug this into my programming but I doubt I'll hear anything from Renfrew. I do however get Fitzroy PP on the Low Band Frequency 46.940 PL 118.8 quite well.
