I noticed a bunch of new UHF licences for Wasaga Beach Provincial Park in TAFL and I've been told they've moved over to UHF and the old Lo Band gear has been pulled out.

The licences show as Pending with the repeater location at the Huronia West OPP Detachment on a much taller tower than what's currently installed there (35m).

Here's the frequencies:

410.4375/415.4375 Wasaga Beach PP/Craigleith PP (licence pending)
413.7625/418.8375 Wasaga Beach PP/Craigleith PP (licence pending)
418.9750/418.9750 Wasaga Beach PP (licence pending)
419.2125/419.2125 Wasaga Beach PP (licence pending)

412.5375 Old Lo Band Receive Site Link from Nancy Island (licenced 2011)

I believe 413.7625MHz is a mistake although you never know with BMR. This is currently used as a VR frequency for the MOH and is in use in Wasaga Beach already. It's possible the actual repeater output is 413.8375MHz.

I've yet to hear anything on these frequencies but if they're coming off the small tower at the Park Office, it would be a challenge for me to hear them.

Interesting that they've migrated to UHF. I always though lo-band propagated better in wooded areas? Or maybe that's not an issue with the park?

Not really an issue at Wasaga.

I did hear some park traffic on 418.9750MHz but it was weak. Probably an input to a repeater but Spectrum Direct doesn't show a corresponding output.

However, Spectrum Direct does show 413.9750/418.9750MHz as being a legit repeater pair up in Algonquin Park.

Interesting.
