After installing Ubuntu 22.04 LTS, I am having issues installing OP25. The problem seems to be with Cmake. The version installed is 3.22.1. Below is the error log.

Any hints.

Check to see if the following is install. If not install and try again

sudo apt install build-essential

It really seems likes "build-essential" hasn't been installed, but frankly I don't see how that's possible if you ran the ./install.sh script.
Code:
cd ~/op25
./install.sh

I am using the latest Boatbod version from GitHub.

Performed 'sudo apt install build-essential'. However, same cmake errors occurred on './install.sh' from /op25 :

-- Could NOT find CPPUNIT (missing: CPPUNIT_INCLUDE_DIRS)
CMake Error at CMakeLists.txt:123 (message):
CppUnit required to compile op25

-- Configuring incomplete, errors occurred!
See also "/home/ken/op25/build/CMakeFiles/CMakeOutput.log".

Will attempt to uninstall Cmake 3.22.1 and install Cmake 3.10.2.

I had issues installing Osmocom version on Ubuntu. It errors at can't find mpir package. Had a hard time getting past finding a fix for that.

Out of curiosity, I spun up an Ubuntu 22.04 LTS VM today and confirm that op25 bombs out on cmake-3.22.1 that comes preinstalled on this
release of Ubuntu. Not having any issues with Ubuntu 20.04 LTS I decided to downgrade to cmake-3.16.3 that got around most of the errors
but still bombed out when cmake began to deal with python boost.

For the time being I would suggest downgrading to Ubuntu 20.04 LTS if you desire to build op25 unless you already have other installed applications running and this would not be an option.

That option was in the back of my mind after reading up on OP25 issues.

The conversion from Win 11 was based solely on running OP25, so, there is little invested on the current version of Ubuntu.

Thanks,

Ken

Ken,

I would imagine in time that the developers of the two major op25 epos will make changes in their respective installers. Keep in mind that Ubuntu jammy (bookworm) is a very recent OS release and it wasn't all that long ago that that op25 was modified to build and run-on Bullseye.

In the fullness of time I'm sure we'll get there, but perhaps more significant than 22.04 changes is the work necessary to support gnuradio-3.9 and it's move away from SWIG. Max may already be looking at this, but I know I've not had free time to devote to it yet.

Well that settled it, will install Ubuntu 20.04 LTS as it appears, if I read correctly, that it would be too time consuming just to make OP25 compatible to one or two users with 22.04 and it's version of Cmake 3.22.1.

Thanks for everyone's input.

Ken,

You should not have any difficulties building and running op25 on Ubuntu 20.04 LTS. Do be sure to execute the ~/op25/install.sh as this
will fully install GNURadio and all of the dependencies need for a successfully build. Contrary to other posts on this subject there is absolutely
no need to install individual components or libraries. Let the install.sh script do it for you.
