On Thursday 10/11 a large scale exercise will be conducted in three locations... DIA ARFF Training Center, West Metro Fire Trining Center & Longmont United Hospital. The scenario involves multiple tornados touching down and hitting structures including the hospital.
The DIA Site will manage simulated collapse & damage to hotels and restaraunts on Tower Road & homes in Green Valley Ranch. The West Metro site will be simulating damage in Byers and the Longmont site is what it is.
Colorado & Utah USAR Teams will be involved, their operation will last into Friday the 12th.
Network First, MAC, 8TAC & ARES will all be good to minitor for those interested. The drill should begin at 07:00 with most of the radio traffic ending by 16:00-17:00.
