First time poster here - I am trying to make up my mind between the PRO-96 and the BCD396T. I'm sure there are some locals on here that can tell me what scanner they use to monitor the digital system in Nashville. I live in Lebanon and I currently have a PRO-93 and a PRO-84 that I use to listen to Wilson and Sumner Counties. I do travel quite a bit and I am also looking for something that would give me the most flexibility on the road also. Any advice is appreciated!

Thanks -
Jason.

The best scanner

The best way to decide which scanner to get is to decide how much money you are willing to spend and also what kind of scanner you need. You mentioned a digital system, I suggest the new Uniden digital scanner, Because it has several good features, Such as fire tone-out, But it will do most digital systems that are not encrypted.

If you have any questions about digital scanners, Please feel free to send me a private message on this site.

Thank you both for the responses. I am going to check out the comparison thread tonight.

First, I was set on the BR330T - but I realized there was no real point in getting another analog scanner since I've got all of the analog systems covered. I've really been missing out on Nashville only and I work there. I'm leaning toward the BCD396T - but it's a huge investment and I want to make sure to do my homework. I hoping some locals respond also and tell me what they are listening with since I hear that the Nashville system is pretty complex. Thanks for the help!

I don't live in Nashville but I do live in Memphis and we have a digital radio system here. I use the Radioshack Pro-96 and the Pro-2096. They work perfect and the audio is better than anything I've heard IMO.

I've listened to both the 396t and the 96 on our system here, and the Pro-96 blows the 396 away as far as sound and digital decoding.

And as for price, the Pro-96/2096 is on sale right now for $399. That's alot cheaper than the 396t.
