Opinions wanted for RS96, RS97, and the BC296D.

I am looking for a scanner and would like to buy one that would last a long time (thus wanting digital). Opinions, based on specs and use, would be appreciated on any of the scanners (RS96, RS97, and the BC296D).

rs97 immediatly eliminated (no digital)

i have no opinion on the 296 (never played with one)

rs96 is a great radio, i still have not yet filled the vscanner folders (have had it for a little over a year now). only downfall, radioshack stores give ****ty service... so the radio really has no problems.

With that settled, got to the Voyagers's Sticky in the Scanning Forum comparing the 96 and 296.
