What is a good mobile antenna that will receive vhf from 140mhz on up? I want to receive these frequencies in counties that are 20 to 30 miles away. Also I need a magnetic mount. What's the best bang for the buck?
I'm looking at Antenex and Maxrad?

If you want only VHF, then get a good VHF antenna.

Almost any commercial brnd will do.

Simple rule of thumb, the bigger the better, until they start making wild claims about performance.

I have this Antennex Mobile Antenna

and easily pick up signals at 30 miles (VHF-High) very clear!
