Hearing a lot of 5Tango softids on OPP units in the Hamilton area. I am 99% sure these are not Wellington County 6Tango cars as they are responding to calls in the Burlington/Niagara area...which are 5Charlie and 5Golf softids...and are communicating with Orillia rather than London.

Anyone know who uses 5Tango? My first thought was the golden helmets...

Might be the truck inspection units.

With a prefix of 5, they are definitely Aurora units.

Hadn't thought of the truck inspection units. Last call I heard with a 5Tango softid sounded like he was doing a traffic stop on Hwy 403 at Fiddler's Green Rd.

Originally I thought they were MTO Enforcement cars just using a patch with an OPP ops group on it but the MTO cars seem to go strictly by 'Tango' and don't use a number beforehand.

As an old instructor of mine would say... "Curious..."

Yes Tango units are truck units... They are out of GTR Regional Headquarters in Aurora. They also engage in traffic stops but for trucks only. Unless you piss them off!

I have a bct 8 and i programmed in the fire depts for lambton county....becher, wilksport, pt lambton, oil springs, ect.....but i seem to have a weak signal, do you know how up to date these talk groups are??

???
This has absolutely nothing to do with 5Tango units.

What you are mentioning here are systems/conventional or trunked for Lambton.

It has nothing to do with Orillia dispatched OPP units that look out for trucks.
