Anyone know what the bomb squad works off of? I herd an ambulance on Linsay cacc says the opp bomb squad is on sceen, then several hours later during they're stand-by for the bomb-squad the informed the crew comming to re-leave them that several devices had all-ready been removed.

I heard the same conversation. The last I heard the Bomb squad are members of the Emergency Team. They probably use the routine TG's and the ETU channels. But if they use the same procedures as the RCMP and the CF Bomb team, they won't have any radio equipment in the sealed off area. The area is usually a low comm environment.

Dave's right, you might hear them enroute but once they get to the scene, you probably won't hear much.

Keep in mind that there's probably not much to talk about once on scene.

Thats the good thing about the Ontario's Emergency Tier system. What you don't pickup on the Police side of the incident, you'll always hear it from either the MOH or the Fire.

Bomb Call

Hey folks, I talked to the crew at work last night who did the standby. Turns out the "devices" were homemade smoke bombs, and they had to be removed my hand because the robot wouldn't fit in the house.

Just talked to an OPP officer, and the Explosive Disposal Unit is based in Ottawa.
