What’s good in capturing the rids if its all encrypted anyways?

Some people enjoy the data gathering portion of scanning. Identifying radio IDs lets them know who might be on specific or new talk groups, gauge activity, etc.

I believe OPP is transitioning starting end of this month, with detachment areas week by week

I've been hearing August. It seems like the MOH rollover has gone well, so I'm sure the next users (whoever they may be) won't be far behind.
