I noticed that these were listed wrong, and wanted to just correct them. I submitted this to the database, but it has yet to be looked at even though other updates have made it through first.

Anyhow here they are.

411.31250 OPP - VR01 PL 107.2 12.5 NFM
410.86250 OPP - VR02 PL 123.0 12.5 NFM
411.51250 OPP - VR03 PL 136.5 12.5 NFM

In the database, VR01 and VR02 seem to be switched around.

Just wanted to clarify this.

Not this.
410.86250 R 123.0 PL VR 01 Vehicular Repeater FM
411.31250 R 107.2 PL VR 02 Vehicular Repeater FM
411.51250 R 136.5 PL VR 03 Vehicular Repeater FM

The 2nd list looks correct to me. It's what I've found is correct by monitoring and it matches what was on a portable programming sheet that was posted on Scanont a while ago.

VR01 is the VR of choice in my area and they always show up on 410.8625Mhz.

I'd hate to argue this over. Perhaps it's different then for Zone 2.

But I regularly hear the first 3 for my area (Zone 2)

Where's the middleground that we can meet on this?

VR 02 410.8625 is the choice for my region.

I've got an email in to a reliable source in Zone 2 who can confirm.

But as the other Mike says, alpha tag your radio as you see fit. Doesn't really matter one way or the other.

410.8625Mhz seems to be the standard VR across Zone 1 with the others only being used during special operations.

You're right. It doesn't matter much at all. Same here, 410.8625 seems to be the one used most often. And if they have to they'll move to one of the others.

All I know is around here, I've always heard it as being to referred to as VR 02.

Hey guys, I saw your discussion and I thought I would add my 2 cents... VR-01 is the 410.86250 R 123.0 PL. VR-01 is the standard for most detachments however we will switch to VR-02 for special events not to tie up the talk group. In some cases where the detachments are very close or overlapping i.e. Toronto and new 407 detachment, the 407 units are told to use VR-02 so not to conflict with Toronto. So you both could be correct!

We're not disputing the actual frequency, but the actual channel number. Perhaps Zone 1 uses 410.8625 as VR01, while Zone 2 uses 410.8625 as VR02

If it's worth anything, I'll be keeping it as VR02 in my radio set up, because that's what I hear it being to referred to day in day out.

Are you sure about that?

I've got the same sheet thats posted above, and FWIW I have 410.0825 as VR02 as well (which is in constant use around here). I'll keep a closer ear on it for next time the comm centre asks someone to turn their repeater to a specific channel.

I believe there was a reprogramming of all the VR's after that sheet that's on Scanont was posted.

What was VR02 became VR01 and all units across the Zone were to use VR01 (410.8625) unless they were at a special detail.

My official source checked and what's in the database matches what he's got. He's out in Zone 2 so it would appear that it's the same in both zones.

So why do we still hear 410.8625 as VR02?

Although lately I've noticed that VR01 411.3125 has been active with the same activity that's on the VR and that's on the Beat. Same traffic on all 3 frequencies.

I don't suppose it occurred to you that the file you dredged up is
years old and changes have been made since then (as evidenced
by Zone 1). Also note the word "proposed" in several places. I
suspect the majority of people don't care if it's VR01 or 02 (I
certainly don't).

Yeah, what do I know eh Dave. I'm only a hick out in the sticks that don't know nothing.

Sorry for posting the questions, I didn't think it would cause a frenzy, I'll refrain from doing so in the future.

In any instance, I'll keep it as VR02, why, because that's what I hear it referred to day in day out as I already stated.

But then again, who want's to listen to what a hick has to say. Especially since I'm not as smart as the ones here eh Dave.

I'm still waiting to see the 'other' sheet that supposedly has all the 'correct' information. If it's out there, then let's see it.
