Looks like a standoff may be developing in the Elliot Lake area.

I heard a unit heading there and they were told to switch to 3TAC01, however the officer was also told to switch his MWS to the bravo node and he could get a readout of the situation. I didn't know they had to manually switch their MWS' as they moved from area to area just like talkgroups. Why would that be required?
I would have thought that with the data wireless provider being Bell Mobility that something like that would be seamless and unnecessary?

I'm not sure that switching nodes would imply cellular. They might have something similar to a group chat where the officers involved in the situation are all on the Bravo node.

Your right mike. I cannot say much but there are several nodes. Treat them like streaming channels. This is to avoid data congestion on too many units all trying to use the system at the same time.

It usually means they have to change the setting on their MWS to allow the Bravo information to be shown. There are filters on the MWS that allow you to only see your area's calls and vehicles.
