I just recieved an Optocom the other day (without bit-banger) and i could use some suggestions on what software to use. I've seen a few out there, but i want to see what everyone else thinks. I need it to be able to do Motorola I, II (VHF, UHF, 800Mhz) EDACS, PL, and DPL. Any help is appreciated. Thanks :D

If you need both trunking and conventional, the only current solution is Scan*Star Spectrum Commander, available at http://www.scanstar.com . I had an Optocom and was not very satisfied with the way this program followed trunked systems. There is/was a program called TrunkTrac that was dedicated to trunktracking and used the control channel only method. I'm not sure if it's still available but a Google will either find it or not.

The best software you can possibly use for the Optocom is Probe. It will work only with conventional but it is absolutely superb. I know the author personally and hold him in the highest regard. Probe is unbeatable. Check http://www.datafileinc.com for details.

Best of luck.
