Hi, for a while I've been hearing o and r gas being simulcast on 451.0875 100.0 pl and I was wondering what would be the point in having this uhf link considering it has awful audio quality and keeps cutting out during transmissions. I live about 5 minuets walking distance from their main antenna site on route 59 and it's just not clear at all. Btw I did notice a worker had a uhf portable in his car.

PAC/RT is a mobile extender. Also known as a "crossband repeater". It's basically the same as the current Pyramid repeaters used in the fire apparatus for TACT-1, but "PAC/RT" is Motorola's name for it.

Although, looking at the FCC license, they do have it licensed as a base in Spring Valley. It's possible that they repeat Gas East and Electric East low band onto UHF so there's in-building coverage there.
