Does anyone know if this new system will be running encryption? i don't want to pull the trigger on a psr800 and can't listen to orange county public safety


i know it will be running Motorola X2-TDMA

So far the only encryption notation from PRO96COM was on:

Radio Shop talkgroups
OCSO Car to Car talkgroups
OCSO Detail talkgroups (not regular patrol talkgroups)
OCSO Admin. 3

Stuff the OCSO already encrypts on the current SZ system like the ATU and the drug unit will obviously be encrypted on this system as well.

Everything LEO WILL be encrypted AFAIK

TDMA X2? Don't think so unless the system will support multiple formats.
