I’m having an issue that I cannot figure out listening to this frequency on a BaoFeng UV82HP that is driving me crazy.

If I enter it manually in frequency mode with no tone in or out or offset, I can hear it no problem. If I enter the correct offset and the correct transmitting PL tone with no receiving PL tone, I hear nothing.

The same happens if I do it in channel mode with Chirp. Just the receiving frequency with no offset or tone in or out, I hear it fine. If I add a correct receiving tone, I hear nothing. I take off the receiving tone but leave the transmitting tone, I hear nothing. If I add no tone in or out but add the correct offset, I hear nothing.

Yes. The tones in or out and the offsets are correct. I’m sure of it. No DCSs are enabled. Basically when the naked receiving frequency is entered with nothing else, I hear. Add anything even just an offset transmitting by itself or a tone out but none in, I hear nothing.

Why are you entering the correct offset and transmitting PL ? I'd say thats mistake number one.

Look dude. I can program a radio. I know what offsets, pl codes, ect, are. I have many frequencies programmed into it including my own work frequencies as a backup. And yes, it works.

And before you mention felony and misdemeanor again, I suggest you look up NY Penal laws.

There are more laws in NYS then just the penal law.

You came on here admitting that you programmed the input frequency ("offset") and a PL into your radio on a public safety channel....your own words...

Go look up NYS Penal Law 190.72 and let me know if you still think a vehicle is required. I would suggest you go play with your radio if you want to make it work on something you are authorized on.
