A question for those familiar with OCFD operations, but what is the difference between a rescue unit and a medic unit. I know they did not have medic units when I use to monitor them a couple of years ago.

A Rescue unit is staffed 24/7 and has two firefighters aboard with at least one of them a paramedic. A Medic unit is staffed from 9 AM to 9 PM and has one firefighter and one civillian paramedic.

The Medic units started after OCFR took over transport from Rural Metro in the rest of the county so as to provide the necessary amount of transport units they would need
