Monday night at 10PM while in OC I heard OCC Control One on 155.2800 PL192.8 "testing the HEAR Network" with every hospital in OC. I haven't heard OC use this freq since 2016.
I have no idea if this is a weekly, monthly, or annual test, but it might be something to keep track of.

It was surprising, considering OC EMS/ ALS went to UHF back in the 1980's, then the 800Mhz TRS in the 90's, to hear that they still have the VHF system in place.

Keep this one in mind when 'the big one' hits.

I want to say it's a weekly test - I've heard it quite a bit.

It is definitely in use as Mike noted. Control 1/OCC will do tests with all hospitals on it. They will also do general broadcasts on it to all hospitals. An example that I've heard was an extension of a Red BOLO. A possible gunshot victim or suspect involved in a crime that may have been hit but missing from the scene. Looking for a possible dump at an ER. Another would be a critical missing person; medicine dependent or suffering from Alzheimer's that might end up at an ER as a John/Jane Doe.
