After finding an SDR based trunked system web page a few years back Super Trunking Scanner: SVRCS [BETA] I knew I wanted to make my own.

Well the last couple months I carved some time out to try and make it happen here in Orange County. This far from complete, and calling it beta is a little bit of a stretch, it has a lot of work to go. And not being a front end dev, it's not as user frendly as I want.

With that being said here it is.
https://scanoc.com/scan/default/

At the top you can change between a couple pre defined scan lists.
You can also build a scan list at https://scanoc.com/userscan/
Going to add the ability for you to save your scan lists for easy book marking.

Thanks for sharing ...I am interested in the hardware you have in use for this system. I am somewhat familiar with the software side .... just curious the SDR type and the Hardware running it.

Thanks

For the County Wide Cell, it's an AirSpy2, with an i5 2.90GHz machine. Then the south Cell which is not being monitored 100% is 2 old RTL sticks, running on an i3 3.30GHz, still working on this second setup.
The i5 was not able to keep up if I had both systems on it at the same time. There is also 1 VHF frequency (FIRE-OC) being monitored, its just a radio connected via Line in and record with a simple SOX script on the i5 box.

This is very impressive! How are you monitoring the CNF (freq/tone?) Just curious, as I have a hard time hearing the CNF on the channels I have for them.

I'm not currently monitoring the CNF, the only VHF that is actively being monitored is FIREOC.

Now when I was working on the VHF stuff the fire in Trabuco was going on so I was using it to test.
I need to look but pretty sure it was 171.42500 without any tone just CSQ.
I stoped working on the VHF stuff to work on the website. I will get back to working on it and adding more local VHF frequencies soon.

Another post recently did indicate that CNF recently went from the old 168.75 to the 171.425 deboe is monitoring. The change was very recent.

Deboe,
All vegetation fires in OCFA wildland areas are managed on VHF frequencies after initial dispatch. This is in response to agreements with mutual aid partners including the Forest Service, Cal Fire, and others. They use either the "SOLAR Plan" in North County or the "PROS Plan in South County. An 800 MHZ frequency (usually command) may be "patched" into FireOC, but FIREOC will not be the primary frequency.

So please, can you add the following VHF frequencies that are included in the SOLAR and PROS plans to your online scanner?

Thank you in advance!

CNF Forest Net 171.425 Tone 103.5
CNF Admin Net 171.1375 (Alternate fire freq.) Tone 103.5

One frequency correction!

I made a mistake on one of the air grounds listed above... Air Ground 53 should be:

FS A/G 53 168.4875 No tone

Thank you!

Thanks,
That is all good info. Like I said VHF is kind of taking a back burner to getting the web site more user friendly. I have been trying to find a good tool to capture VHF using an SDR I had played with and used for a while RTLSDR-Airband but was having some audio issues.

My plan now is:
* Clean up the website just a little more
* Working on getting the South Cell monitored full time (with better audio reception)
* Work on monitoring all the local VHF via sdr.

Right now FIREOC is being captured via a traditional radio and sound card input, so it is just the one I picked.

As for some of the listed frequencies as I'm sure you know many of the tacs are simplex so I probably wont be able to capture them unless the fire is near my location.

I am looking at using a rasberrypi and sdr at a few other locations, so might get some more coverage.

Thanks again for typing this up, ill will definitely use it when I get back to the VHF work.

Keep the suggestions coming.

Great site. I was wondering if 2N being monitored? I clicked on the link but it was not connecting.

No, I'm pretty sure 2N is in the North Cell, which I can't get any reception down here.
But I am looking at using a new location which should get the North Cell and then would include 2N.

I need to add comments to the talkgroups, ill add something to the site to indicate which ones are not actively being monitored.

I noticed this evening that you have not included some of the more important frequencies for monitoring Orange County Fire Authority (OCFA) in your list. What you have currently will allow monitoring of dispatches and medical aids, but that's about it.

Could you please add the following:

4N North County structure fire tac. (Countywide system)
4C North County Command (Countywide system)
5N South County structure fire tac. (Countywide system)
5C South County Command (Countywide system)
3C Santa Ana Command (OCFA, but on Metro Net system)
3E Santa Ana structure fire tac. (OCFA, but on Metro Net system)
4F North County wildland/swift water rescue response (County-wide system)
5F South County wildland/swift water rescue response (County-wide system)
5O John Wayne Airport crash-rescue response (County-wide system)

Thanks in advance....

All of those are and have been in the OCFA scan list. https://scanoc.com/scan/ocfa/

3D and 3E are not always being captured, as im still working on my system that is monitoring the South Cell where those live. 3C I don't have in there as its just 5B.

I have been meaning to add the ability to see which talkgroups are in each scanlist. fireinoc's message prompted me to make it.

So now if you tack on /details/ to end of a scan list url it will list all the talkgroups that scan list has.

For the OCFA scanlist
https://scanoc.com/scan/ocfa/details/

Nice! Thank you for the list. That helps. If you could get around to adding those VHF, we could listen to the brush fires. That would make this complete, and the best site available!
