In the Scanners and Receivers Forum, there seems to be no particular order in where the forums are placed. The General Scanning Discussion Forum was at the top of the list yesterday, but today it is down near the bottom. Can it be put back where it was?

Actually, the order of forums does make sense. Starting with New Users, that's an obvious choice for #1. Then we have the three scanner manufacturer forums, listed in order of which has the most threads/posts...that makes sense. Next up, SDR which has become popular of late, followed by the ICOM and AOR forums, again listed by most popular first. And finally we finish up with All Others and General Scanning, no doubt placed at the bottom of the list to encourage posters to choose one of the more specific forums listed above to post in.

Makes sense to me, and looks like it was done deliberately just for that reason.

Thank you. You got my motivations perfectly.

The General Scanning forum was being used as a dumping ground for people choosing the first thing they saw.

This in no way changes how the forums work (including RSS). Other than the GenScan forum name changing, and a few descriptions, it's only a reorganization.

The biggest problem for the Moderators on the forums is posts being placed in the wrong place. This is generally because people don't read nor take a moment to look over the other forums. [The second problem being cross-posting.]
