With lots of news articles starting to come out almost daily now the Eclipse is quickly approaching. Oregon is expecting an influx of 1-1.5 Million Out of State visitors and tens to hundreds of thousands in the state trying to travel to the "path of totality." You can find many different maps and tools elsewhere online to see the areas.

The state is planning this as a full disaster response. With that being said the purpose of this thread is to identify any specific freqs/channels/TGs that are being used directly for the Eclipse. Obviously, any area in or near the main line will be swamped even on regular channels.

If possible list County, Agency, Freq and other details. Bonus if its part of a live feed :)

I'm in Portland, right near the airport. Happy to host an event feed if anybody has any ideas.

The ARRG is having a solar event (ARRG Amateur Radio Relay Group Events Page). That page lists the repeaters they'll be utilizing for the event.

Edit: posting repeater freqs:

ODOT has been in the news recently (KGW) comparing this event to the big snowstorm last year, and warning people to be prepared for hours upon hours of being stuck in traffic. They are even urging folks to print out paper maps in case cell towers are overloaded.

Here are a few freqs. heard during the earthquake drill last year. Hopefully local and county EOC's in the affected areas will be staffed up.

151.055 Washington Co. EOC
158.730 Multnomah Co. Emer. Mgmt. 1
155.685 Multnomah Co. Emer. Mgmt. 2

Not sure if Clackamas Co. or Portland are running any specific frequencies (VHF or otherwise) for EOC usage.

Nice. I read somewhere that the Madras Airport expects more aircraft in a 48-hour period then the last 5 years combined.

Yes, almost every county EOC in the path will be activated as well as the State ECC

Amateur Repeater at Mt. Jefferson Wilderness Area

The Lane County Sheriff’s Amateur Radio Operators (LCSARO) will be setting up, monitoring, and maintaining a portable amateur radio repeater and the Lane County Search and Rescue (SAR) portable repeater to provide coverage in many parts of the Mt. Jefferson Wilderness area. We have tested the site and areas covered include Jefferson Park.

The LCSARO portable repeater is on a frequency of 145.250 MHz with a -600 kHz input offset. The PL tone is 100hz.

The repeater should be functioning starting August 13 with an expected close of operation on August 26.

Further details about the group and the event can be found at: LCSARO to Aid in Emergency Response for the August Eclipse - Lane County Sheriff's Amateur Radio Operators Inc.

The Governor has approved the use of the Oregon National Guard during the eclipse. Are their any known frequencies that they use? I can find some Oregon Air National Guard frequencies, but I have not found any for the Oregon Army National Guard.

The other day on one of the Marion Co. Sherriff channels I heard a bunch of radio checks all over the county. After taking a look at google maps based on a few of these locations I believe these were checks from various event venue locations.

Oregon Wing Civil Air Patrol Assists in Eclipse Traffic Monitoring (Photo) - 08/19/17

AURORA, Ore. -- Members of the Oregon Wing Civil Air Patrol are flying the skies today through Tuesday, monitoring road and airport conditions of areas in the eclipse's 'path of totality.'

The Civil Air Patrol was launched at the request of the Oregon Department of Aviation (ODA), in conjunction with the Oregon Department of Transportation (ODOT) and Oregon Office of Emergency Management (OEM). Because Oregon is expected to have more than one million visitors this weekend, ODA, ODOT and OEM have tasked the Civil Air Patrol to monitor areas where there is a high possibility of severe congestion or safety concerns at local airports.

Over the next four days, multiple aircrews from the Oregon Wing CAP will fly routes that will help ODA and ODOT monitor the conditions of at least 17 airports and 7 major roads. The CAP aircrews will be able to give ODA and ODOT personnel real-time updates of the congestion, which could help ODA and ODOT respond to real-time circumstances.

"We are working with the Oregon Department of Aviation, Oregon Department of Transportation and Oregon Office of Emergency Management to assist Oregonians and visitors in having a safe and rewarding experience during the eclipse," Lt Col Nick Ham, Civil Air Patrol Incident Commander, said.

Civil Air Patrol is a strategic partner of the U.S. Air Force serving as a member of its Total Force. It is a Congressionally-chartered nonprofit organization with 56,000 members nationwide. CAP performs 90 percent of continental U.S. inland search and rescue missions as tasked by the Air Force Rescue Coordination Center, and was credited by the AFRCC with saving an average of 80 lives a year.

Using a fleet of 560 single-engine aircraft, CAP flew 104,500 hours last year. CAP does its work supporting America's communities with emergency response, diverse aviation and ground services, youth development and promotion of air, space and cyber power. The members play a leading role in aerospace education and serve as mentors to nearly 24,000 young people currently participating in CAP cadet programs. CAP has been performing missions for America for 75 years. For more information, visit Civil Air Patrol - United States Air Force Auxiliary.

Sorry, no link so I posted it in full.

We had a small experimental aircraft crash just south of the Madras Airport. Supposedly 2 people on board. Started a fire on a hillside.
