• To anyone looking to acquire commercial radio programming software:

Making a request such as this is attempting to engage in software piracy and this forum cannot be involved or associated with this activity. The same goes for any private transaction via Private Message. Even if you attempt to engage in this activity in PM's we will still enforce the forum rules. Your PM's are not private and the administration has the right to read them if there's a hint to criminal activity.

If you are having trouble legally obtaining software please state so. We do not want any hurt feelings when your vague post is mistaken for a free request. It is YOUR responsibility to properly word your request.

To obtain Motorola software see the Sticky in the Motorola forum.

The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

256K Orions do not allow the feature data to be displayed. Must have a 512K or higher.

If my memory serves me right I think you need to have at least OG40.400 radio code loaded in the radio in order for it to display the features that the radio has enabled in it. The current avallible release is OG47.402 as of this date.

Now that I see that your radio has a DSP "ADI"code of 02000 witch is used for unencrypted Aegis. So it is a digital Aegis radio. It should have a little daughter board plugged into the top controller board. OG24400 is a very old code you will need to upgrade the radio code to the one I have listed above. By looking at the info you have on the radio it looks to be and ex military radio from a uhf low edacs system. Give Macom a call and ask for the feature data department you will need the feature data string and the rom serial number and they will be able to tell you what is in that radio. And if ask for tac and explain what you are trying to do they might email you the radio code. 1-800-528-7711.

The little board i have in it has this on it.
Top: 904714G3 on a sticker and 4-0 1496 on the board
Back side on the chip: Analog Devices ADSP-21MSP56A
5A0120
Whats that board for? Aegis?

Alrighty. Just got off the phone with them.. They said to take my radio into a macom shop and have them update my radio code. Problem with that is the local place dont want me to go to it...
And that my radio is a aegis radio if it has that board.. Unless someone just poped it in and hoped it would work

Not sure. Went in with my orion radio once got it fixed. went in with another radio and the boss said he didnt want me to go back. For parts for things to be fixed for anything. That they are "mainly" for goverment/comms and not private owners

Find another shop, or to upgrade the radio code in it, just call M/A-COM's Technical Assistance Center at 1.800.528.7711 and ask them for the latest code for your radio. Tell them that you're missing features that you want to use (e.g. viewing the features intsalled in the radio via the 'FEAUTRES' menu) and they should send it to you.

And feel free to post which shop it is since they obviously are not interested in anyone's business...

Last night i had someone send me OG43400 and OG33300 radio codes.
Would OG43400 be the best one to use for an aegis/conven system?

If he had the soft/programming cable/rib, he could do it himself...I dont think he has the soft/cable/rib...

He does - he has shown that he has read the radio with the radio maintenance program and done programming....

The OG43400 code is probably the best choice since it is the newest of the two code files.
