The "GTX" apparently is the model number. Since Universal Studios is on a 900 MHz trunked system, then they're GTX 900's.

BTW, since you work there, have you checked the RR Database to see if the information for Universal Studios is accurate? Who better than an employee to obtain correct system and talkgroup information?

Ken,
Thanks for the reply...I tried for myself on my scanner to see if the current universal studios frequencies listed on the rr data base is correct so far I havent heard anything on those frequencies. When I go into work this wednesday i'll find out for you guys and ladies.

Typical answers to this type of question. Most of these people have no clue about frequencies, let alone trunking, talkgroups, etc. unless they are the radio system maintainers.

Universal may have their radios maintained by an in-house staff, or they may have a contract with a private outside vendor for radio maintenance. It would be easier if the radios were maintained by actual Universal employees, but I believe unless you know these people and are on friendly terms with them, it is unlikely they will tell you what you want to know, even if they have the correct information.

Do you use a two way radio as part of your job? If so, you could request a listing of all the channels (talkgroups) so as to know the correct channels to be on, etc. The system frequencies are listed here in the RR database, so it's likely they're correct, at least whoever submitted them believes they are.

They use GTX's and MTX-9000's for General park ops and MTX-9000's and MTS-2000's for security. The system is not that busy, but they are all analog type-II Motorola trunking. The coverage is limited to the park immediate area. So unless your very close, dont bother trying to listen.
