Did the Reedy Creek Improvement System switch over to P25. I plugged in the frequencies for this system: http://www.radioreference.com/apps/db/?sid=1413 and got a P25 control channel on 860.2625. I ran Pro96Com on the system and it showed the same frequencies in use as the Reedy Creek system listed in the database. I know it is not the Orlando system because that system ID is 25A. The units are in the clear but Dispatch is encrypted. Any more information would be appreciated.

I was down 2 weeks ago and found the control channel and heard intermittent testing on a couple of groups.

Also, I think that dispatch uses encryption for administrative communications and not actual dispatches, because that's what they were when they were on the Motorola system.

They just have money to burn. I went there on a tour some years ago. They must have had 100 SPARE mtx2000 radios.

They have unlimited resources it seems. Thank you WDW.

Not only P25, but full-time DES encryption also.

Well, so much for bringing even a digital scanner to WDW. It is irrelevant to me to listen to anything outside of RCID (including Apopka, Lake County, Orange County, Osceola County, and Polk County which can be decently received within WDW) when I am inside WDW.

Above it says dispatches are in the clear - you are saying even that is gone now?

even if they are, you can count on that being for a limited time only.

The entire system is secure.

Unfortunately based on monitoring the new RCID system, sbkeith was right about the total encryption, probably the media caused this one too (especially Ch. 9), especially after they started reporting of all of the deaths at the Disney theme parks.

Monitored Talkgroups: 2285 and 2287
